error out of photo paper

I have a hp photosmart 6525 printer. When I send text from my I phone it goes through a cycle of spinning noises like its going to print but stops and sends a message to the screen of the printer that says out of photo paper /load phot paper and push paper tray forward to close . It also pulls the photo tray in . I am not trying to print photos. What am I doing wrong?
