3520 google cloud print registration fails

I am trying to link my Google Chromebook to my HP Deskjet 3520.

I follow the google cloud registration steps up to the point where I m ready to add the printer. I enter the HP email addy for the printer, hit "Connect My Printer" and get the message "Could not get printer information from HP."

This printer is at this moment working properly with my Windows laptop. And the printer confirms the HP email addy I am entering.

How do I get the Chromebook registration to happen?
