I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet and an HP8500 (A910) printer. My lan has a wireless access point. I can print from my Unix desktop, My linux desktop (both over ethernet), and my windows laptop (via wifi). So why can't the tab let communicate with my printer via the wifi access point? Seems if the laptop can do it then android certainly should!
Yes I've installed the HP Eprint app, and it works via the HP eprint server, but that can only print certain types of files. I'd like to be working on a document, tap print and just have my document print without all the intermediate "folderol".
The Unix and Linux machines use CUPS. Anyone know if there is a viable CUPS solution? I really don't want to to change my printer to wireless if I can help it. Cups loses some functionality when this happens.
Thanks for any help.
