Just purchased HP Officejet 6700. Installed IAW the directions. Prints fine, but the computer shows

I see no alerts on the printer panel.
I have updated firmware, and drivers and still receive the message. The only thing I have not done is plug in phone line as I dont need the fax function
I use an iMac, with version 10.7.5
