HP8600 pro plus - no airprinters found

I recently bought this printer as I was unable to print to my existing printer from my ipad.

The problem is that my ipad can only find the printer occasionally. Sometimes its fine and others not. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to it and nothing I've tried has fixed the problem so far.

Is there anyone with advice as to how to fix this problem please?
