Problem connecting C4580 to a new router on OSx10.8.4

Hello, I am unable to reconnect my C4580 to my Verizon DSL replacement wireless router.  The printer operates normally when connected to my MacBook via a hardwire USB connection.  The instructions I have found tell me that I should open the HP Device Manager on my MacBook, then from the Information and Settings drop-down menu, click Setup Assistant  to enter the new network name and security password.  As soon as I click on Setup Assistant, Device Manager crashes and I get the following error message:
