i have an HP 6500 e710n-z and I'm trying to activate scan to computer from the installed software. I have a desktop (newly built) using Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
The printer was connected wirelessly over my network for the last year. It also suffered very long print times. When i say very long i'm mean 20 minutes +, no exaggeration. So there's two problems:
1. No Scanner Actions link in software
2. Extremely long print times
My scanner worked fine since i installed it over a year ago. Today i could not locate the "scan to computer" option in the software. So with aready long print times and a lack of "scan to computer" option available i decided it was the right time to uninstall the printer and reinstall it.
i proceded to remove the printer and used Revo uninstaller but found nothing to remove. I went ahead and used the uninstall option via the HP software. Powered down and restart. I went ahead and re-installed the printer and everything seemed to have installed correctly.
Wireless network test report came back complete, but no "activate scan to computer" or "scanner actions" in the printer software.
I followed:
to the letter and even used HP print and scan doctor, but still no "scanner actions" link available in the software.
I've also noticed "No computer detected" on the printer screen. I've gone through some of the posts on this site and still nothing seems to work.
The Scanner operates correctly when:
Double clicking the HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z scan icon > Save as JPEG > scan.
What I'm trying to do is be able to click scan from the printer itself without having to run back and forth from the pc to the scanner in time to scan a document/picture.
I'm lost at this point and could really use some help. Thanks in advanced.
