It won't print. I bought it because I had an ancient hp printer, whose drivers were always tricky to find, and the fact this worked on multiple platforms and devices - and wirelessly - made this a dead cert.
Except it wont print - wirelesly or wired. In both cases my mac can see the printer, but says there's an error and can't connect.
The HP print drivers/utility software on my mac can't print test pages - though my printer will from its panel. It can see the status of the printer etc, but when I try to print normally nothing happens.
My ipad can also see it and not print to it.
I did manage to set it up to eprint, which the printer said is connected, but I send emails to the email address, get a confirmation email and nothing prints. I set up an eprint account but can't log into it, as apparently [Edited for Personal Information] and my eprint emails are both "invalid".
My housemate's windows pc occasionally sees it - and prints wirlessly 2 times in 10 - otherwise it also doesn't print. If it does will say 'could not communicate with printer' but print anyway. I'd perform more tests with my housemates computer but he's sent it to repairs - but I should be ble to print using my mac and ipad! It's connected to the network by a cable.
My wireless router is connected - the printer says it's connected, and it's physically next to the router. In fact all the computers are - and as I said those with wifi can see it - but not print to it. So it's not signal issue. They say they're sending or nothing happens or there's a connection error.
I've reinstalled drivers and software, tried several different applications (print, wired, ipad wireless, ipad eprint) none of which will work. My housemate's will mysteriously print occasionally - wirelessly - my mac connected via cable wont. Obviously tried multiple usb ports.
And when it does print there a line down the middle of the paper and creased lines down the page. I've cleaned the print head and aligned the cartridges via the printer terminal, and changed the ink cartidges. This still happens.
... and I bought this to be more convenient >.<
